To assert Khit Sense’s leading position in the Myanmar music industry, I designed an event bringing together photography and music.

I collaborated with French rock photographer Djavanshir. N for a tribute to the Myanmar Rock Scene.

The photographer met and took powerful black and white portraits of some of the most influential vocalists of the Yangon Rock scene, from legends to the new indie scene.

Featured are 13 of the hundreds of musicians who make up the diverse and wildly talented Myanmar Rock family.

To celebrate Myanmar's love for Rock n' Roll, we couldn't imagine a better place than the streets of Yangon, allowing the general public to discover these intimate portraits while rediscovering their streets.

This project aimed to contribute to bringing art to public spaces and making Yangon a better liveable place for its residents.

Presented by Khit Sense | Curated by Pyinsa Rasa | With the support of Telenor & Xenon, printing partner.

The exhibition opened with a free mini rock show to celebrate together the rock spirit in Myanmar.

It attracted a diverse crowd of over 500 rock lovers, mostly local young people, and families.

Residents and local authorities also attended the event (ward officers, members of the Yangon City Development Committee (YCDC), ministers from the Yangon Regional Government).

COLLABORATION WITH THE ALLEY COMMUNITY

Khit Sense and Pyinsa Rasa teams worked hand in hand with the alley community and authorities, who played a crucial role in cleaning and freshening up the alley and ensuring the security of the opening event.

Their enthusiastic response and attendance were among the significant outtakes of this event. It demonstrated how music could contribute to communities and make Yangon a more liveable place for its residents.
